Samantha Crawford is the Specialized Academic Instruction Special Education Teacher at
ECMS Gardena. Samantha found a passion for special education after volunteering, working, and learning within organizations such as Teach For America, the Syracuse City School District, and the Lawndale Elementary School District. She believes that all students deserve to be served by nurturing, dedicated, and academically engaging educators, and that is who she strives to be at ECMS.
Samantha was drawn to ECMS after spending two summers as an Extended School Year teacher and getting to know some of the students that make up the school. As an alumna of
Environmental Charter High School and a Gardena native, Samantha is looking forward to the opportunity to give back to both the city that she grew up in, and the organization that provided her with amazing opportunities as a high school student.
Samantha earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Syracuse University. She studied inclusive elementary and special education with a concentration in human thought and expression. Outside of school, Samantha enjoys reading, hiking, camping, and meditating.
