La’Keisha Jerome is the designated instructional service (DIS) counselor and College Readiness teacher at Environmental Charter Middle School – Gardena. She began at at ECMS-G as an eighth grade English and College Readiness teacher in 2015.
La’Keisha is at ECS because she loves the “out-of-the-box” approach to teaching, which she believes nurtures sincere, lifelong learning. She also appreciates that ECS academic programs cater to the whole child.
La’Keisha is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and was a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc. – Inglewood. She has volunteered and worked at various social service, educational, non-profit, and religious organizations.
La’Keisha is a graduate of Compton Community College and California State University, Dominguez Hills where she earned an A.A in General Education and a B.A in English Literature (with a minor in Theater Arts). She earned an M.S. in Education and a Single Subject Teaching Credential from Mount Saint Mary’s University and is also a graduate of Loyola Marymount in which she earned an M.A in Guidance Counseling and a Pupil Personnel Services Credential.
La’Keisha is a native of South Los Angeles, California. She loves to try new vegan recipes and spend time with family. She loves to laugh and is passionate about serving people because she feels that it is her God-given calling.
