BA Global Economics, UC Santa Cruz
MA Education, Loyola Marymount University
Kai Sanson, 8th Grade History Teacher, joins the ECMS-Gardena team with over ten years of outdoor sports education experience, an undergraduate degree in Global Economics and a Masters of Arts degree in Education from Loyola Marymount University. In addition, he has been a coach and mentor for special events with Stoked Mentoring, the Life Rolls On Foundation and LMU for Others Mentoring.
What brought Kai to ECMS is his desire to help students discover history and learn how to be stewards of our environment. With a background in global economics, Spanish language and sociology, Kai loves to read about and discuss the social issues of our nation, California and our community.
Outside of school, Kai immerses himself in everything involving the ocean and mountains. His weekend and summer adventures with his family involve exploring California, surfing, fishing, hiking, backpacking and just being outdoors. To be a steward of the environment, he gets his hands dirty with organic gardening and being a part of the local bio-fuels movement. Anyone have waste vegetable oil that you don’t know what to do with? Send it his way!
