ECMS-Gardena hosted an awesome Green Up Day this past Saturday. Over 75 volunteers participated which included ECMS-G staff, teachers, parents and students. In just a few hours, volunteers painted garden beds, sifted our compost system, picked up street trash, swept the sidewalks and street and planted native species on campus. It was wonderful to meet our neighbors and work together to “green” our campus, neighborhood and surrounding community! A special thank you to John Jones III (Watts Field Deputy, City Council District 15), Nicole Deering (Manager of City Services for City Council District 15), Richard Lee, (Youth Representative for the Harbor Gateway North Neighborhood Council) for your support and participation and our local Pizza Hut and Noah’s Bagels for donated refreshments. Stay tuned for our next Community Green Up Day in March. If you would like to volunteer with your company or organization, please contact our ECMS-G Community Liaison Christiana at email@example.com.
