Gilbert Lopez joined Environmental Charter Middle School – Gardena teaching Special Education on June 2017. Gilbert has experience teaching English and working with students with autism. Gilbert comes to ECMS – Gardena with two years of teaching high school special education.
Gilbert was drawn to ECMS – Gardena because it allows him to work in a student-centered environment that encourages adolescents to make a positive global impact. It is his hope that we can all make the world a better place for the future. Gilbert is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children and is a participant in local politics.
Gilbert is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills and holds a B.A. in English Education with a focus in Journalism. He is currently completing his M.A. in Special Education at his alma mater, CSUDH.
Gilbert is a Carson native where he enjoys reading his favorite book, The Da Vinci Code , by his favorite author, Dan Brown. Gilbert hopes to make a lasting impact on his students’ lives, as a teacher once did to him.
