Britney Collins is the new 6th Grade ELA/History teacher at Environmental Charter Middle School in Gardena. Britney’s key areas of responsibility is to ensure that all students embrace a love and passion for literature and the world. Britney has seven years of teaching middle school English/Language Arts and was previously the 5th grade English Language Arts teacher for Bright Star Schools in Los Angeles, Southwest Schools in Houston, Texas, and KIPP Schools in Houston, Texas.

Britney is at ECS because our schools actually live out our mission statement and she loves that ECS makes strides towards making education a well-rounded experience for our students. Britney is a member of Sigma Gamma Sorority, Inc, Pi Rho Chapter located at the University of La Verne and Cal Poly Pomona. Britney holds a BA in English and a M.Ed in Reading from the University of La Verne. Britney is a native of Carson, CA. She graduated from King/Drew Medical Magnet High School in Watts, CA in 2004. She is a fanatic of all things sports and music. She is a part of the Take 5 Sports Radio Show every weekend. Her favorite movie is Love and Basketball and her favorite book is Manuscripts Found In Accra and The Alchemist by Paulo Coehlo and Invisible Man by Ralph Ellison.
