Babette Dickerson started Environmental Charter Middle School-Gardena as the 8th grade Math teacher in 2016. Babette loves helping students understand math information and has done so for eight years as a private tutor, SAT instructor, and Sylvan Learning Center educator.

Babette enjoys teaching at ECS because the school makes being environmentally appropriate look easy. Babette also likes that the campus strives to engage with the local community, which is reminiscent of her service on the Mid-City West Community Council. Babette looks forward to incorporating more creativity in her core classes, potentially making use of her past experience in instrumental music and film editing.

Babette graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park with a B.S. in Chemistry. In addition, she earned an M.A. in Education, emphasizing Mathematics with an SB2042 (EL) from Pepperdine University.

Babette is a native of Shaker Heights, Ohio. Her favorite dish is macaroni and cheese. She is passionate about making math easy for all learners as she believes that everyone can understand math if it is taught in a way that makes sense to the learner.
